How to Fix iPhone Camera and Flash Light Problems

Are you experiencing any problems with your iPhone camera? Does your camera app just bring blank camera anytime you try to use it? Perhaps it freezes when you switch between your front and back camera, or even some features are missing which you can't find anymore. Not to worry, just try the below steps and see if it fixes the problem.

Follow these steps if the camera freezes or shows you a blank screen:

Check if it is a software or hardware issue: Try to make a video call through FaceTime or another video app. During the call, check both cameras. If they both work, then it is a software issue. Contact Apple Support Center for help.Close the camera app entirely: Tap the Home button twice, search for the Camera app, then swipe it up.If this doesn’t solve the problem, restart your phone then try again. If that too doesn’t work, you might need to restore the default settings to your phone. Go to Settings>Reset>Reset All Settings. This will return the device to its default settings. When it is done, open the Camera app and try again.Try a factory reset if all other options fail. Go to Settings>Reset>Erase All Content and Settings. When you do this, you will see a screen that prompts you to either restore a backup or setup iPhone as new. Select the Setup as New option.

Sometimes your camera would work fine, but the flash wouldn’t work. In this case, try the following:

  1. Remove the iPhone’s case.
  2. Make sure that the flash is clean. If it isn’t try to clean it up with a piece of cloth.
  3. Check the lightning bolt in the upper left corner to see if the flash is on.
  4. Restart the iPhone. To do this, hold down the Power and Home buttons together.
  5. Switch on the flashlight from the Control Center. If it works, then the flash is okay.
  6. Switch off Camera Location Services. Go to Settings>PrivacyLocation Services and turn off the Camera app indicator.
